THE CHALLENGE
Speed, ease-of-use, reliability, and flexibility are essential features of equipment designed for
today's Army command posts. Soldiers needed an automated and robust audio adapter
solution that would:
- Automatically detect and configure any attached headset.
- Offer simple, USB-based audio communications.
- Function as a standard audio device with any host system.
- Support automatic noise reduction headset features.
| THE SOLUTION Creating the ideal solution for this universal audio adapter required careful attention to the needs of the soldier. The solution had to be rugged and small form factor, while also drawing minimal power from the host system and allowing operation by two users. Teligy partnered with General Dynamics to create the ideal solution that: - Offered an external power option for automatic noise reduction.
- Included a dedicated microprocessor and elegant analog circuit for automatic recognition and configuration of standard military headgear.
- Supported common military communication features such as push-to-talk.
